As I read the posts in regard to the book “How Would God Vote?”, by David Klinghoffer...
...I find it amazing how many of the “posters” are missing the point and are off on every convenient tangent available...the point in Medved’s post is that the book presents what most of us, who think clearly, already know...that the bible is at the core of Conservative principles. The liberal relativist mentality is not biblical...it is not good...and if left to its own devices leaves people and countries broken. Look at every “secular” state and see the proof.
Thou shalt not murder (or kill) doesn’t mean you don’t go to war...or defend yourself...or kill for food...it means that as a life standard you try not to whenever and wherever you can. The bible sets up a life philosophy. There will always be exceptions, key is to manage the exceptions so they occur at a minimum, or not at all, and never become the principle.
The bible is the trunk of the tree...how we live are the leaves. If we live with in the principles of the bible then the leaves are happy...if we don’t, the leaves become ill. Ever look at a tree and notice that some leaves are green and others are brown or losing their color?
Those sickly leaves are the liberal leaves.
